Art Jewelry Elements Component of the Month Reveal - Sue

Can you believe it is May 31st already.  Where did the spring go?  I know mine has been filled with visits with family and a bit of sickness but all and all it was a good month.  Here we are at the reveal of Sue of SueBeads component of the month reveal.

I love these little cabochons!  I received a star and two hearts.  Since May was just so busy I did not get to using all of them but I did start with the star.  As always I was so excited I did not get a picture of them before I started playing.  Here is what I have for the star at this moment.

I initially wanted to frame the star but I think my E6000 needs to be replaced because I couldn't get the star to stay on the backing.  I hated to cover any of it with beads but I am actually really pleased with how it turned out. In my stash I found these other stars that just seemed to beg to play so I did them up the same.

Now I have to tell you this is only the second time I have tried to make multiple embroidered components for a necklace.  I love the look of the ones that I have seen but I have yet to be brave enough to go to this level.

As you can see I am a bit stuck at this point.  I have yet to decide how to make the strap.  First I have run out of silver beads so I was thinking I could go with navy and white for it.

I have a few ideas but nothing has given me that "YES" moment.

Be sure to hop to our other guest and team members blogs to see what they were inspired to create.

Art Jewelry Elements Component of the Month Reveal - Caroline

Welcome to the November Component of the Month Reveal featuring Caroline of Blueberri Beads.  This is what Caroline offered us this month.

I have to tell you even though I have probably said it before I feel so blessed to be a part of this amazing team,  Each one of them are so talented and so inspiring.  This month Caroline was inspired by the lichen she has seen on one of her nature walks and it certainly transferred to this amazing design.

The way she can take her vision or inspiration and transfer it to these designs astounds me.  There is not one thing she has created that I have not totally fallen for and once again I was completely inspired when my cab arrived.  I couldn't even wait to take a picture, I glued it down, picked the beads and started.  It took about 5 evenings and the whole necklace was complete and I have worn it 3 times since.  It is a good thing too because I have now totally lost my studio as we are undergoing a makeover of sorts in the house.
I apologize for the strange view in this photo I did not realize the camera flipped the picture and it was too late to get a better one.
I love the texture of the cab so much I added a bit around the edge to mimic it.

Thank you so much Caroline for your amazing talent.  Now you all need to go and hop along with everyone to see what they have created.

Art Jewelry Elements Component of Month Reveal - Linda

Here we are again.  I have to say I do love this time of the month.  This months reveal is brought to you by Linda of Linda Landig Jewelry.
Aren't these gorgeous?  I did remember to get a picture BEFORE I completed my design this month.
For those of you who do not know orange is my favorite color.  I only get to decorate with it this time of year and there are rarely components that use orange so I was extremely excited and in love with it.  The other great part is that I had the exact matching seeds that have been waiting for just a component this special.
At first before I received it I thought I might do some bead embroidery , however Linda's glazing and colors are so perfect that I just couldn't cover any of it.  On the cover of the newest Bead and Button magazine is a twisted herringbone using varying bead sizes that I thought would be perfect.  As I always do I wanted a smaller chain so I used smaller beads.
I liked it but it just did not have enough.  So it sat as I tried to figure out what I could add to give it the look I wanted.  In the meantime I played with the colors and some other beads to create a matching bracelet.  I had a design in mind but as I was stitching this is what I came up with.
I am having fun with it.  It has the colors of just changing trees.  So a funny thing happened when I was moving things around on my tray, I twisted the two ropes together a bit and it looked cool so I twisted them completely and I really like the look of it.
I did happen to run out of the green picasso 8/0's so I am waiting to order some to finish the rest of it and I am still trying to work out the connection.

I am so excited to see what everyone else has created.  Hop on over to the Art Jewelry Elements blog to check them out.

Art Jewelry Elements Component of the Month Reveal - Diana

It is that time again.  I am realizing I need to pay a bit more attention to my blog but for today I am revealing what I made this month.

Aren't these the best!  Diana of Suburban Girl created these amazing rustic donuts for us to play with this month.  Once again I need to remember to take a picture of the component but a funny thing happens when any of our team member sends the component of the month.  I instantly run up to the bead room, of course after I open the package and squeeeeee for a bit, and gather beads.

I have been reading Game of Thrones for the first time and I was completely inspired to create something along that theme.  I call it Winter is Coming.

I love the colors Diana glazed on this donut and I had no trouble finding beads to match, partly because I am addicted to her stoneware pieces and make sure I have the rustic colors on hand and partly because they are my go to colors.

So I highly recommend you go and snatch one of these up for yourself and show Diana what you create.  But first hop over to the AJE blog to see what everyone else has created.

Art Jewelry Elements Component of the Month - Silverniknats

It is that time again.  This month is hosted by the lovely Niky of silverniknats.

I told Niky to surprise me and she did.  It is funny that every time I hear the word farthing I am instantly transported to my youth and watching one of my favorite Disney movies.  Robin Hood.  Do any of you remember the little bunny's birthday and he got "a whole farthing"?  To tell you the truth I have always wanted to hold a farthing since then.

I have to show you the cute packaging she sent it in.

I have no idea what but I am going to put this little tin to special use.  It is just so cute.

Because the hole was side to side and I really wanted to make it a pendant I bezelled it.  Once I finished that I saw that it needed something to really take it to the next level.  Then I remembered these components that I have been hoarding since Christmas.

The AJE team did a secret Santa exchange and this is what I received from the fabulous Melissa of MelismaticArtJewelry.  Then it hit me.

I have been a bit obsessed with making longer necklaces as of late but have had such a hard time with the pendant drop part.  This time it just came together so perfect that I can not help but wear it every chance I get.

Thank you Niky and Melissa for helping me take it to the next level!  Make sure to visit what everyone else has created by going to Art Jewelry Elements.

Art Jewelry Elements Component of the Month reveal - SueBeads

It is that time again for the Component of the Month reveal.  I was so excited to finally get a set of these amazing beaded beads made by Sue of Suebeads.  I love seeing other beadweavers creations.

Sue's stitching quality is truly amazing.  These are of amazing quality.  I really should remember to take pictures of the beads BEFORE I use them, but you can sort of see them here.

The other reason I should really take a picture is when something like this happens

Yes you can see here something terrible happened but it wasn't all my fault.  The cat tried to eat my bead.

Cute isn't she?  No not when she plays on my tray.  Lucky the beads were small and I did not have to take her to the vet.  I also have to tell you that I was recovering from surgery and I did not notice right away.

I had a thought of making a really cool bracelet using the beaded beads in this way.

I am still rethinking the design now.  I was thinking of using the pendant by Rebekah of
Tree Wing Studio as the accent to bring out the bead now.

Please go check out what everyone else has created.  I can not wait to see.

Art Jewelry Elements Component of the Month Reveal - Rebekah

It is reveal time and I am so excited to be a part of it!  Rebekah of Tree Wing Studio is our host this month and this is what she offered.

I have to tell you that I did not notice the "love" printed on the side because I was so enamored with the perfect look of driftwood.  I tell you it is like she took a cookie cutter and cut it out.

I new instantly when it arrived what I was going to pair it with and how I was going to hang it.  My friend Jan of Molten Mayham has been dabbling in resin.  She has sent me some gorgeous piece and she is loving doing it so much she will soon be opening a shop.  I will be sure to let you all know when she does. Believe me when I say you will love what she is creating.  She had sent me this key.  She knows I have an affinity for keys and what they represent to me.  Love, Challenge, and Surprise behind every lock.

I had originally thought I would embroider it but with the clear background any fabric would have drowned the picture out.  I did not get a picture of it before I bezeled it.I was going to but I became so wrapped up in making it work as I have never bezeled a square before.  I love the way it turned out.

From there I did another figure 8 chain.  I was going to do multiple layers but when I completed it and hung the heart it just felt perfect to me.

I introduce you to "Key to my Heart"

Now I would love it if you went and checked out what our team and guests have done with their hearts.
